It’s Christmas in Tinker’s Cove, Maine, and Lucy Stone is excited about her acting debut in the town’s production of A Christmas Carol. But a real life Scrooge has everyone feeling frosty, and with a murderer on the loose, Lucy will have to unwrap her sleuthing skills faster than she can say, “Bah! Humbug!”
Lucy normally loves planning for the holidays, but this year, Tinker’s Cove has fallen on hard times. With so many residents struggling to make ends meet, Christmas festivities are a luxury some can’t afford. But the story’s not so bleak at Downeast Mortgage, whose tightfisted owners, Jake Marlowe and Ben Scribner, are raking in profits from everyone’s misfortune. Half the town is in their debt, so when the miserly Marlowe is murdered, the mourners are few and the suspects are many. . .
It’s hard to feel merry amidst all the yuletide chaos. Between her reporting duties at the Pennysaver and nightly rehearsals for the Christmas play, Lucy hardly has time to search for a killer–especially one whose victim left behind so many possible culprits. Scribner believes Marlowe’s ghost has come to warn him of his own impending demise, and when he starts receiving death threats, Lucy wonders if there’s more to the omen than the ravings of a bitter old pinchpenny. . .
Can Lucy solve the case and deck the halls before the killer strikes again? In a season of giving, receiving a deadly Christmas present is definitely not what Lucy had on her wish list this year. . .

Just finished reading the Christmas Carol Murder and enjoyed it as much as I have all the other Lucy Stone Mysteries. Sincerely hope there will be a new one soon. I love reading these stories and hope you plan to continue the series. Happy belated holidays!
Hello. I just finished CHRISTMAS CAROL MURDER
Hi, Leslie. I just finished reading and enjoyed “Christmas Carol Murder”…it was kinda tough going since it was similar to what we keep hearing on the current news, but I am glad I stuck with it. Really enjoyed it and you kept me guessing through pretty much the whole book. Am really looking forward to your next one!
Happy Thanksgiving, Leslie!
Interested in PKD in this book. It killed my grandfather, father, aunt, and uncle. I have it — kidney transplant in May 2010 — one daughter has it. Two other kids didn’t get the gene. I’ve never seen it mentioned in fiction — has it affected your family? It’s a wicked disease.
Hi Leslie, just wanted to say that I love your Lucy Stone Mysteries. They are so much fun to read I can’t wait for the next one to come out! Keep them coming!

THANKS FOR THE YOUR BOKS TO READ AND TO ENJOY , MAGGIE DOMINGUEZ
I just started reading Christmas Carol Murder and know I am going to like it as much as your previous books. I enjoy reading about the family life including Lucy’s job and just the mystery of it all. I, also, love the location. I read some of the reviews on Amazon including the one star reviews which included comments about being sad and depressing. It is life especially around this time of recession and foreclosures. I really enjoy your stories. I read a review of another light mystery novel a few months ago and because the main character and her boyfriend broke up at the end they didn’t like the book. I liked the book and I felt it made it more realistic. Not a fairy tale ending. The mysteries have always been solved. Keep writing about Lucy.
I just finished reading CHRISTMAS CAROL MURDER and I think it was your best one yet! But I always think that about every book you write and I love them all. You never seem to run out of fresh ideas and wonderful plots for Lucy Stone and her family and friends. Please keep up the good work and never stop writing these wonderful books.
Leslie
Just got finished reading “Christmas Carol Murder” and it was terrific as always….thanks!
I love the Lucy Stone Mysteries and have read every book in the series including your recent Christmas Carol Murder. There is an error in the book though. On page 253 when Lucy is at Downeast Mortgage Building and Al Roberts is holding Mr Scribner hostage and plans to blow them all up, quotes are attributed to Mr Scribner that should have been spoken by Al Roberts (“You called the cops,” SCRIBNER accused. “I’m not bluffing. Get out if you know what’s good for you. Four.”…)
I can’t wait for your next book. I’ve enjoyed them all.
I have never read any of your books, so I ordered from the local library and surrounding ones in our Link Plus program the following: trick or treat murder, wicked witch murder, and can’t wait for the Xmas carol murder-copies not yet available. So I love all the holidays and events in your titles, so I suggest an Election Day murder or May Day murder or how about Hay Day murder, just as the summer winds down into fall. Can’t wait to get all caught up with you titles. I also reserved back to school murder. Here’s to more great reads from you and your colleagues.
I would love to get signed copies of this book for gifts, yes one for me too 🙂
Is there a bookstore or is Leslie doing any book signings where I can order some books?
thanks for your help,
Teresa
